| Non-Tithing = Adultery? |
|
According to tithe preaching churches just how big of a sin is not giving the minimum 10%? Evangelical Free Church of America is clear that the sin of non-tithing is comparable to the sin of adultery. Hydesville Community Church is a member of this organization. When this doctrine was first questioned Preacher Mike Delamarian (senior pastor at HCC) asked me, 'How much do you give?' After I responded, 'None of your business.' He provided the Evangelical Free magazine called Evangelical Free Today. In this magazine there was an article by Rev. Bruce Johnson called, 'Should Pastors Know What Their People Give?' Check it out at the following link. The article goes on and concludes that since non-tithing is such a big sin the pastor has a right to know how much someone is giving. The Bible says, 'give your alms in secret'. Evangelcal Free Churches of America makes the case that because of the sinfulness of non-tithing the pastor has a right to pry into your personal affairs. Crossing the line from pastoring to meddling takes some discernment. All of the business of an indivisual is subject to the scrutiny of the Good Shepherd. He is the Pastor before whom all the sheep's personal business is open and disclosed. There are some matters that are to be open to Him alone, this includes financial 'giving'. If your church's pastor wants to pry into your wallet/purse tell them its none of their business and they are meddling. According to tithe preachers, meddling in other peoples affairs is not a problem. The tithe preacher equates non-tithing to adultery to coerce more money out of the flock. The tithe preacher not only tells you how much you ought to give but wants to know how much you have given to make sure that every stone has been turned in order to maximize the treasury. The tithe preacher is a presumptuous priest (pp). He presumes to know the will of God for your $ giving and wants to correct you if you stray out of it. The Bible doesn't have a lot of good things to say about meddlesome people. 1Peter 415'But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.' The pp is in the same category as the murderer, a thief and an evildoer. The Lord tells us to keep our alms giving secret, it is to be before Him alone. Our giving is none of anyone else's business. If you know a tithe preacher who is a meddlesome busybody don't be afraid to bloody his nose out of your business. |
